Sloth tour in La Fortuna

Overview

The Sloth Watching Tour is a 1.5-hour sloth tour in La Fortuna on a 30-acre rainforest reserve, 1 km from the central park. A bilingual naturalist guide with a spotting scope and binoculars helps you find the sloths, and on average guests see 4 to 6. It leaves every hour from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and costs $53 per adult and $30 per child, VAT not included, with entrance and transport from La Fortuna.

Sloths spend most of the day high in the trees and blend in with the leaves, so your guide scans the canopy and sets up the spotting scope to show them to you up close. Along the trail you also look for birds and other rainforest wildlife.

Cancel at least 24 hours before the tour for a 100% refund; with less notice, the full price is charged. Date changes made at least 24 hours ahead have no fee, subject to availability. If we cancel for weather or safety, you choose between rescheduling and a 100% refund. Pickup waits up to 10 minutes and, at the meeting point, please arrive 15 minutes early; a missed tour counts as a no-show without a refund.
